Kannada typing and ottakshara
Start Kannada typing with a word such as namaskara. Press Space to convert it to ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ, or select the spelling from the suggestions before continuing.
Kannada consonant combinations, often called ottakshara, are shaped from the underlying Unicode letters. Short and long vowels can also change the word. Review the suggestions for the whole word if a consonant or vowel looks wrong.
This page produces Unicode Kannada. Nudi and Baraha workflows can use different layouts and, in some documents, older encodings. Copying the output here does not require a legacy font, but the destination needs a font that supports Kannada.
Editing and saving your text

Is this a Nudi keyboard or font converter?
It is a Roman-to-Kannada transliteration editor. You type sounds with an English keyboard. It does not reproduce a fixed Nudi layout or convert legacy Nudi text.
