Punjabi typing in Gurmukhi
This Punjabi typing tool writes Gurmukhi. Enter Punjabi words with Roman letters, then use Space or a suggestion to accept the Gurmukhi spelling.
Look closely at doubled consonants, nasal marks and vowel signs. Roman Punjabi does not always make these distinctions explicit. Names and greetings may need a different spelling from the first suggestion.
Punjabi can also be written in Shahmukhi. This page outputs Gurmukhi only. The Urdu editor uses a different language pack and is not a Punjabi-to-Shahmukhi converter. The downloaded text is Unicode Gurmukhi rather than AnmolLipi or another legacy encoding.
